Why Indian broker APIs increasingly need IPv6

India has one of the fastest IPv6 adoption rates in the world — a large share of mobile and broadband traffic here is already IPv6. For algorithmic traders, that shift matters in three practical ways:

1. Clean, dedicated source IPs. Most retail connections put you behind CGNAT — your "IP" is shared with hundreds of other users, changes often, and can't be reliably whitelisted. Brokers that let you lock API access to a specific IP need a static, dedicated address. IPv6 makes dedicated addressing abundant and cheap.

2. One IP per account. Running multiple broker accounts from a single shared IP can trip risk/fraud checks. A dedicated IPv6 per account keeps each one cleanly separated.

3. Latency & stability. A datacenter IPv6 close to the exchange (Mumbai) is far more stable than a home connection that re-dials a new CGNAT address through the day.

If your broker supports IP whitelisting, a dedicated IPv6 is the simplest way to get a stable, whitelistable source address for your algos.
